Using
the neutral taste of water as a background for new flavours
Ketchup with cheese? Jam with green beans? Of course not! And your
child will not be able to discover the intensity and variety of
flavours if they are drinking sugary drinks at table!
Only the neutral taste of water respects flavours and helps
children to learn new tastes and to experience the range of different
foods.
Bad
habits alter taste
The consumption of sugary or artificially sweetened drinks either
at table or just before a meal alters children's perception of taste,
and encourages them to eat the richest, sweetest, or saltiest foods,
instead of fruit and vegetables. Water should be the only drink present
on the table. Sweet drinks should be reserved for special occasions,
such as birthdays and parties.
But at the table we recommend water and nothing but water!

Good
advice:
- At the table propose your children water!
- Encourage your children to drink water without cordial from their
earliest childhood. |
